Real Talk, Real Progress.

HELPING YOU MOVE FROM OVERWHELMED TO EMPOWERED.

Hi, there! I’m Rachel, a compassionate and down-to-earth therapist and founder of Coneflower Counseling in Nashville, TN. I specialize in helping young adults with anxiety, OCD, and trauma move from feeling controlled by their feelings & impulses to feeling more confidence and agency over themselves. In short, I help you to find you, so you can live your best life.

If life has been feeling overwhelming, exhausting, and difficult lately, then you’re in the right place. I’m here to help.

You’re juggling a million responsibilities, and somehow, taking care of yourself has fallen through the cracks. You’re doing what you can to be a good partner, friend, son/daughter, mother/father, employee/boss/student… but it has taken up every last ounce of you. You feel depleted and stuck in this cycle of survival.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE.

It’s time to stop surviving, and start thriving.

Life is busy and you’re already doing the best you can to keep up with all the things. But here is what I need you to know:

Your needs matter, too. YOU matter.

Through a little bit of dedicated time just for yourself, you can start to reclaim your life. Imagine being able to handle all of life’s responsibilities without the downward spiral and the constraints of perfectionism. Imagine a life filled with self-compassion when things go wrong, or the ability to say no, or ask for help when you need it. All of that is possible. And I’d be honored to help you get there.

Hey! I’m Rachel.

I’m a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and modern millennial therapist based in Nashville, TN. I love working with young adults and new parents who are struggling with anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship challenges, and general life transitions. People-pleasing, hyper-independence, perfectionism, and spiraling thoughts are just a few examples of the common challenges my clients face. Through genuine human connection (and a little bit of humor along the way), I strive to help my clients go from stretched thin to feeling self-assured and fulfilled.

You don’t need to do this alone.

My Specialties

ANXIETY

Does your mind spiral with “what ifs” and worst case scenarios? Do you worry about how others are perceiving you, so you “go along to get along”? Do you ever want to say “no” but feel like you can’t? That sounds like anxiety, my friend. Together, we can work through all of those challenges, and more.

PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

Are you trying to conceive, already expecting, or in postpartum and find yourself experiencing things such as irritability, anxiety & fear, depression, and an identity shift? Or perhaps you’ve experienced a significant loss that has felt all-consuming lately. Whatever it is, I’m here for you. The perinatal period is marked by a mix of seemingly conflicting emotions and I’m passionate about supporting those who are going through it.

OCD

Do you have distressing intrusive thoughts that play as a constant in your brain but you feel like you can’t talk about it? Do you find yourself spending a lot of your time engaging in rituals just to make yourself feel better temporarily? Together we can determine if your anxiety is consistent with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The good news: it is highly treatable with ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention).

TRAUMA

Have you experienced significantly distressing event(s) that you seem to be reliving, or can’t quite get out of your head, no matter how hard you try? Or maybe the challenges you faced growing up are affecting how you show up today, but you’re not sure where to start to break the cycle. I got you. Through trauma-informed care (which may include EMDR), you can be on your path towards healing.

The Process

01 CONNECT

Schedule a consultation call — no pressure, no commitment. We'll talk about what's been going on, you can ask me anything, and we'll get a feel for whether we're a good fit. If it feels right, we'll get your first session on the books.

02 ATTEND

Show up as you are — you don't need to have it all figured out before we start. Each session I’ll get to know you a little better as we build our relationship, explore and gain understanding of your patterns, and develop strategies that fit into your life. This is your space, and we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.

03 NOTICE

Notice what happens. Do you find yourself holding a boundary that previously felt impossible to do? Are you able to more easily find the self-compassionate part of you and channel that energy during moments of stress or difficulty? These are some of the small wins I hope we achieve. And if you are noticing any concerns, I welcome your feedback so we can figure that out together. I got you.
